toilet, anyone? (2022)
ncku arch toilet renovation competition
team: Tzu-Chi CHIU, Wan-Chen WU, You-Shuo CHENG, Jovan Theophilus

The toilet is conventionally understood as a purely functional service space, yet it is one of the most indispensable and life-sustaining components of architecture. This project reconsiders the toilet as a latent spatial niche capable of operating beyond a single utilitarian mode. By maximizing spatial efficiency and introducing a minimal informational “medium,” the toilet is transformed from a passive service zone into an active site of exchange—an informal micro–information hub embedded within the architecture building.
